In the area of Southwest Virginia where I am located, June seems to be a very active time for box turtles. I saw several last year, and I was happy to see a few of the same turtles again this year, along with a few new ones. I’m trying to keep track of which ones I’ve seen before by taking pictures of their shells for identification. Here are a few of the turtles I’ve met so far.
